Poetry Peek: Books

Without further ado, I present to you the first poem in my upcoming poetry collection, My Heart’s Choir Sings.

Books

The open, sterilized jaws of
your flat beckoned, quiet

Like the yellowed pages of books
That were your long time companions.

Their old, musty scent,
Those dog eared, well worn tomes

See me bow headed, slumped.
Closer now to your essence

Than ever before.
